Trump-Tower-1.jpg

December 16, 2025 foasummit0

Nikken Sekkei says it is set to redefine the city’s skyline with Trump Tower Dubai. The project, commissioned by Dar Global, aims to redefine the concept of luxury in the region. Rising 350m above Sheikh Zayed Road, the tower will boast bold geometry with crafted detailing to create a landmark that is both visually striking and functionally refined, said a statement.

The concept draws on the confident forms of Manhattan and the architectural discipline of Japan. Nikken Sekkei’s Dubai studio has translated these influences into a structure that feels international in ambition yet grounded in cultural sensitivity. The result is a tower that speaks to global aspiration through a distinctly Japanese lens, it added.

Dr. Fadi Jabri, CEO of Nikken Sekkei Dubai said, “Trump Tower Dubai blends bold geometry with crafted detail to create a landmark that is both visually striking and functionally refined. The design draws on the confident forms of Manhattan and the architectural discipline of Japan, reflecting our commitment to proportion, restraint and long-term value. We are proud to set a new benchmark for how global design intelligence can shape the future of high-rise luxury in the region, elevating branded living through clarity, precision and cultural relevance.”

Inside, the tower will offer a curated lifestyle. The Trump Club will feature a spa, infinity pool, cigar lounge, fine dining, and leisure areas. These amenities are not just decorative elements but integral to the architectural experience, reflecting Nikken Sekkei’s belief that urban environments are crafted with intent, where every element contributes to comfort, privacy, and prestige.

Parking is also said to be concealed behind vertical louvers, preserving the façade’s integrity. A multi-storey car park connects directly to the tower, housing a gym, children’s play area, and observation deck. The layout, with smooth transitions, will ensure an enhanced resident experience.

The project has been shaped by Japanese design principles, including restraint, proportion and long-term thinking. Materials are selected for their texture and durability, light is used to define space rather than decorate it and the building is designed to complement its surroundings rather than dominate them. This philosophy is evident in every aspect of the tower. Public and private spaces have been arranged to promote flow and comfort. Interiors are calm, tactile, and composed, devoid of excess or distractions. The tower is being constructed to endure, not to impress.

Trump Tower Dubai is said to showcase Nikken Sekkei’s commitment to long-term value. It aligns with regional visions while addressing practical demands related to climate, culture, and community. The architecture is bold yet restrained, the interiors refined yet intimate, and the overall design strikes a harmonious balance between ambition and discipline, the statement said.

For Nikken Sekkei, Trump Tower Dubai goes beyond a mere project; it serves as a statement of how branded residences can evolve. It redefines luxury through proportion, craftsmanship, and cultural relevance, demonstrating how global influence can be adapted to local contexts, creating spaces that resonate with both aspiration and authenticity.

Trump Tower Dubai represents the culmination of this narrative, integrating form and function, ambition and restraint, global vision and local relevance. It embodies the values that define the city it serves, making it a design that truly reflects the city’s essence, the statement concluded.

Nakheel-SOM-1.jpg

December 16, 2025 foasummit0

Nakheel has unveiled the design for the Palm Jebel Ali Friday Mosque, a landmark project that will serve as the spiritual and cultural heart of the island. With a capacity of up to 1,000 worshippers, the mosque aims to harmonise Islamic tradition with modern architectural expression.

Located along the island’s central spine, the mosque aligns with Nakheel’s vision of creating community-centric destinations that foster connection, well-being, and a sense of belonging, said a statement.

Designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM), the Palm Jebel Ali Friday Mosque reinterprets classic Islamic forms through a contemporary lens. The structure’s cascading textile inspired canopy, extending from the roof to the courtyard, provides shade and visual continuity with the surrounding landscape.

Khalid Al Malik, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Holding Real Estate said, “The Palm Jebel Ali Friday Mosque reflects our commitment to building communities that enrich lives and foster belonging. Designed as an architectural icon and a place of worship and peace, it will serve the island’s residents and visitors, while standing as a symbol of spiritual harmony and cultural dialogue. Working with SOM enables us to bring forward a design that is both contemporary and timeless, aligning with our broader vision for Dubai’s continued growth and prosperity.”

Chris Cooper, Partner at Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM) added, “SOM’s design for the Palm Jebel Ali Friday Mosque reinterprets Emirati vernacular architecture for a new generation. Inspired by the island’s coastal landscape, the design celebrates the interplay of geometry, light and material through a sweeping woven canopy that filters sunlight and draws the sea breeze into the heart of the mosque. The result is a serene yet striking sanctuary, deeply rooted in Emirati tradition while embracing the future – a spiritual anchor that unites faith, community and the natural rhythms of the sea.”

SOM’s design embodies calmness and inclusivity, featuring clear pathways, landscaped walkways, and generous ablution spaces. These elements encourage a reflective and welcoming experience, while natural light softly diffuses throughout the interiors, creating tranquil spaces that elevate the spiritual experience and provide comfort and serenity, the firm said.

Standing at 40m tall, the mosque’s minaret will serve as a feature across Palm Jebel Ali, symbolising faith and unity. Its refined geometric composition mirrors the harmony and order inherent in both Islamic art and SOM’s design philosophy.
